Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter would like to invite you to attend the launch of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter Supporters’ Network from 10:00-12:00 on Monday 22nd July at Etc Venues on Portland St in Manchester. Mayor Andy Burnham, Deputy Mayor for Business & Economy Sir Richard Leese, and Cllr Sean Fielding, lead for Skills & Work in Greater Manchester, will all be attending, along with employers, employees and others.
The Good Employment Charter has been co-designed over the last 18 months with employers, trade unions, campaigners and academics to raise employment standards and help employers succeed in all sectors across Greater Manchester. The Charter will support employers to improve their practice in seven key areas:
- Secure work;
- Flexible work;
- A real living wage;
- Workplace engagement & voice;
- Excellent recruitment practices & progression;
- Excellent people management;
- A productive & healthy workplace.
The Supporters’ Network will be the gateway to the Charter for most employers, with Supporters making a commitment to improve practice in each area and being able to access appropriate support, resources and sharing good practice.
This event will be an opportunity to hear more about the Charter and get involved as we build a movement that will drive Greater Manchester organisations towards the best employment practices.
