People are encouraged to contribute, whether to gain writing experience with the help of our editors or to share their writing with a wider audience. We cover a wide range of topics, including local politics, community projects and social justice campaigns, and aim to support independents, community groups, charities and local government initiatives.
Now Then is a website produced by the social enterprise Opus Independents Ltd that relaunched in 2021 with a new design. Opus published 12 print issues of the Manchester edition of Now Then magazine between 2012 and 2014 before switching to the former magazine-style website design, publishing a new 'issue' each month online.
We aim to cultivate choice, voice and responsibility by providing a platform for independent art, trade, music, writing and local news. We support Manchester's economy by only working with independent traders, community groups, charities and local government.
We sell marketing packages which currently includes campaigns via our online platforms (website, social media). The aim is to produce print magazines again in the future, which are funded by selling marketing packages that also include advertising space in order to fund the print magazine.
As across the rest of our platforms, when selling advertising / marketing packages we only work with independent traders, community groups, charities and local government.
