Description of SE/Org:

We're an innovative membership group open to anyone 50+ helping people and communities to lead their lives the way they want in Rochdale, Bury & Oldham

Products or services sold:

We work on the reduction of social isolation amongst older people doing four key things:

1) Social - We organise 50-60 social events every month, all suggested by Members

2) Practical - We offer practical support with gardening, decorating, moving boxes, changing lightbulbs. All the jobs older people struggle to get someone out to come and do.

3) Befriending - We are working with Give&TakeCare based at Brunel University on a bespoke befriending programme that incorporates an element of timebanking.

4) Transport - We operate the HMR Circle Volunteer Drivers Service which takes people to hospital, doctors etc as well as social events

Here at Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale Circle (HMR Circle) we believe that people can be each others' solution, and we back it up every day, week and month by helping each other out with life's practical bits and pieces.

Circle is also about learning new things, and enjoying your hobbies and interests with others in the community. One number to call to help stay sorted and a social network to help stay connected - that's the idea.
