The Shared Health Foundation is encouraging a person-centred approach, empowering individuals to take responsibility for their own health. Working together with individuals, communities, health professionals, voluntary sector and business partners we can tackle health inequalities. Through nurturing innovative ideas and replicating best practice, we can form new partnerships to make a positive difference to health outcomes across the city region.
We work across Greater Manchester to identify the impacts of poverty on health.
We then develop initiatives or support existing grassroots projects to reduce these health inequalities.
Our on-the-ground work informs us of the changes that need to be made in practice and in policy.
We share our insights with local and national organisations, governments and policy makers. We make visible the health challenges faced in our communities which are often overlooked by the system.
Together we can work towards building a society which positively nurtures the health of its population.
All our projects are fully funded so are free to service users. We offer:
- support to Homeless Families
- training to GP's working in deprivation
- health literacy classes for the under 7's and mental health
- resilience training to professionals working with 8-18 year olds
