The GM Social Enterprise Network has been asked to nominate someone from the Social Enterprise sector to serve on the GM Co-operative Commission.

The Commission will be convened by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, to make policy recommendations which will support the continued development of the co-operative sector in GM and to ensure that GMCA is drawing on the benefits that co-operatives can bring to our local economy.

We are looking for individuals with a background in a co-operative social enterprise, currently based in GM, who would be interested in being nominated.

For more information about the Commission, the role and the selection process please see the following two documents:

The Commission will have a real impact on policy, investment and the economy of Greater Manchester, with high level endorsement from GMCA. It is very important that the Commission includes the voice and expertise of someone from the social enterprise co-operative sector. This makes for a very exciting opportunity for the right person.

Expressions of interest should be made on the form above and sent to Owen Hewson at owen.hewson@gmcvo.org.uk by 5pm on Thursday 10th January 2019.
The nomination will be confirmed on Tuesday 15th January 2019.

Please spread the word as widely as possible, and encourage expressions of interest from anyone you think would be suitable.
