A friendly, informal peer-to-peer network group for the Social Enterprise community in the Wigan Borough. Hosted locally and throughout the borough, we aim to bring together local Social Enterprises to build a strong and cohesive network. Network activity is funded by the Proper Good programme, supporting social enterprise and strengthening the social economy in Wigan and Leigh.

Hosted bi-monthly, the format will be a 45 min opportunity to network with fellow peers in the sector, followed by a 2 course lunch to allow network relationships to develop. All attendees will pay for their own lunch.

With no pressure of sponsorship, this is a great chance to get to know fellow enterprises in our borough and forge opportunities and collaborations. It is the intention to invite local businesses from time to time to encourage business community cohesion and opportunities for wider support and networking in the borough.

In December 2020 Wigan was awarded Social Enterprise Place status by Social Enterprise UK (SEUK). Following on from Salford's Place award in 2015, Wigan is the second Greater Manchester borough to receive this award. Social Enterprise Places are areas where social enterprise activity is thriving. From quarters, towns, cities and zones – areas around the UK are declaring themselves as social enterprise places committed to investing in the sector.
